WordPress is the original full version of the popular blogging program used by millions around the world. WordPress is being used by international bloggers in over 56 languages.

The full version of WordPress is designed to be used by those on a self-hosted site. The user has the ability to fully customize their blog to their own needs from controlling the look and design to adding features with WordPress Plugins.

WordPress.com

WordPress.com is the free blog hosting service using WordPress:WordPressMU, a multi-user version of WordPress. Started in 2005, WordPress.com hosts more than 2 million free blogs with bloggers blogging in dozens of languages. Anyone can get a free WordPress.com blog.

WordPress.com also offers paid hosting for those who want more control over their blogs and web services.

Akismet Comment Spam Fighter

Automattic is the parent company of the popular comment spam fighting WordPress Plugin Akismet. It integrates easily into WordPress and many other blog programs, forums, and online services.

bbPress

WordPress:bbPress is an easy-to-use forum software program that integrates into WordPress blogs. It is used by many bloggers who desire to add a forum to their WordPress blog, and runs the WordPress Support Forums. It is free and features a variety of Plugins and Themes. Gravatar

Automattic recently purchased Gravatar, bringing the ability to put a face on your blog's comments to anyone.

WordPress.com Stats WordPress Plugin

WordPress.com Stats is a WordPress Plugin which gives everyone the ability to use the popular WordPress.com Stats feature on their blogs. It requires registration as at least a user of WordPress.com but can be used on any full verson of WordPress.

WordPress Widgets WordPress Plugin

WordPress Widgets WordPress Plugin is used by pre-WordPress 2.2 versions to put WordPress Widgets into your WordPress blog and Theme. Current versions of WordPress includes WordPress Widgets in the core programming.

Blicki WordPress Plugin

Blicki is defined as blog+wiki=blicki. It is a blog and wiki combination WordPress Plugin.

WordPressMU

WordPress:WordPressMU is the multi-user blog program designed to offer business, groups, associations, and anyone interested in hosting multiple blogs. The blogs use WordPress technology with a single backend administration for regulating what each blogger can do with their individual blogs. Each bloggers controls their own blog to the limits set by the owners.

WordPressMU was developed to host hundreds to millions of blogs. Examples include WordPress.com and Edublogs.

Note: WordPressMU is not designed for a single blogger controlling multiple blogs.
